About the Rebelle Rally

The Rebelle Rally is the longest competitive off-road navigation rally in the United States. It is also the first women’s endurance off-road rally in America. The Rebelle Rally covers 2,500 kilometers of stunning terrain across the vast deserts and mountain ranges of Nevada and California. Blending the love of driving with the ultimate challenge of precise pace and navigation, the Rebelle tests your skills over 8 days of competition. It is not a race for speed, but a unique and demanding event based on the elements of headings, hidden checkpoints, time, and distance using only maps, compasses, and roadbooks. Meet the Team

Kristie is a returning Rebelle, having previously competed in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 Rebelle Rallys. Heidi is a rookie Rebelle who will be competing for the first time in 2025. They first connected in a Facebook group for women veterans, when Kristie posted in search of a teammate and navigator, and Heidi responded seeking a challenge and adventure.

After realizing they lived just 60 miles apart, they decided to sign up for navigation and off-road driving training with Barlow’s Adventures, which was held in the Imperial Sand Dunes of Glamis, California. The training, scheduled for December 2024, would mark their first face-to-face meeting. Over several days and nights spent together in a vehicle and camping in the desert, they had the opportunity to gauge their chemistry and see how well they meshed. Their shared experience proved to be the perfect bonding opportunity, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Their adventure didn’t stop there! Officially registered as Team #167, they chose the name "CWG: Salty Sergeants," marking the beginning of what promises to be a memorable journey together.

Since their initial meeting and training weekend in the Imperial Sand Dunes of Glamis, CA in December, Kristie and Heidi have dedicated significant time and resources to attending professionally hosted and co-op training sessions in various locations and terrains. These diverse training opportunities have given them the chance to refine their skills, learn new techniques, and fine-tune their ideal vehicle setup and equipment. Their commitment has been focused on ensuring they are fully prepared for the 10th Edition of the Rebelle Rally, which is scheduled to take place from October 8th to 18th, 2025. With each session and new challenge, the CWG: Salty Sergeants have grown stronger, building both their technical abilities and their bond as a team. Confident and well-prepared, they are ready to face the competition head-on and prove themselves as fierce contenders in the rally.

DRIVER

Kristie Levy

Kristie proudly serves as the fearless Driver of Team #167, taking the wheel of her trusted 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon named “Atropia.” A highly accomplished and resilient individual, Kristie retired from the U.S. Army in 2021 with the rank of Master Sergeant, capping off a distinguished 25-year career marked by leadership, mentorship, and service. Throughout her time in uniform, she held several key positions—including Drill Sergeant, First Sergeant, and ROTC Instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—that allowed her to shape and inspire the next generation of soldiers and leaders. While her military career took her around the globe on adventures filled with sand, sweat, and the roar of combat zones, she found her greatest fulfillment in roles focused on training and guiding others. Today, Kristie continues to serve her country in a different capacity as a federal agent, conducting investigations throughout the southwestern United States. She is also a devoted wife to her husband of 14 years, who is himself a retired U.S. Army veteran with 27 years of service, and a proud mother to her 21-year-old son currently attending Eastern Kentucky University. Outside of work, Kristie thrives in the great outdoors. An avid trail and ultra-runner, she finds peace and purpose in venturing off the beaten path, immersing herself in remote landscapes where she can run, explore, and reconnect with nature. Her passion for challenge and adventure naturally fuels her enthusiasm for the Rebelle Rally. Now gearing up for her fourth Rebelle Rally, Kristie is beyond excited to partner with her teammate Heidi. She looks forward to relying on Heidi’s expert navigational skills while she focuses on driving Atropia with precision, determination, and safety. Together, they aim to push their limits, earn the highest possible score, and cross the finish line with pride and purpose.

NAVIGATOR

Heidi Bailly

Heidi, the team's Navigator, earned the nickname "Super Navi" during Rebelle U training, a title that reflects her exceptional skill and precision plotting coordinates and map reading. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Heidi served an impressive 14 years on active duty as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Specialist, ultimately achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Her military career took her across the globe, with assignments in Japan, Korea, Guam, and Australia, as well as various postings on both coasts and in the Midwest of the United States. Since leaving military service in 2010, Heidi earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management. She currently works as a Senior Research Project Coordinator at HealthPartners, managing medical and health research studies. Alongside her career, Heidi is a dedicated wife and mother of three children: an 18-year-old son and two daughters, aged 24 and 26. An adventure-seeker at heart, Heidi thrives on new challenges. Whether navigating complex terrain or managing high-stakes projects, her focus and determination are unwavering. With her extensive background in precision and strategy, Heidi is ready to lead Team #167 through the rigorous course of the Rebelle Rally, with the ultimate goal of reaching the podium and securing victory.

THE VEHICLE

"Atropia"

Meet the "third teammate" of Team #167—Atropia, Kristie’s meticulously outfitted 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLUR. Purchased completely stock in 2021 to mark Kristie’s retirement from the U.S. Army, Atropia has since undergone a remarkable transformation into a highly capable and reliable overland and rally vehicle. Under the hood and below the chassis, Atropia now boasts 4.88 gear ratios for optimal torque and performance, paired with RPM 2.5-ton steering components and heavy-duty Apex Chassis ends for maximum durability and control. A 3.5” suspension lift gives her the clearance needed for rugged terrain, while 35” Pirelli All-Terrain tires mounted on Method bead-grip wheels ensure traction and reliability in even the most challenging conditions. Protection and recovery have also been top priorities in Atropia’s build. She’s armored with an Artec aluminum full belly pan, rear shock skids, and a rear differential skid for undercarriage protection. Rusty’s Off-Road provides the rock sliders and heavy-duty spare tire mount, while a Bulldog winch sits ready up front for self-recovery. An ARS rack system is mounted on top, carrying MaxTrax traction boards and additional recovery gear, ensuring Team #167 is always prepared for whatever the terrain throws their way. One of the most notable recent upgrades—thanks to Jax Motorsports—is the installation of 2.5” Fox Performance adjustable off-road racing shocks, elevating Atropia’s suspension performance to professional-grade levels for off-road endurance events like the Rebelle Rally. Inside, Atropia has been custom-tailored for long-distance travel and field utility. The rear seat has been removed to make way for a highly functional storage and sleep platform designed and installed by Aiden James Customs. The system includes two locking drawers at the tailgate, providing secure access to tools and valuables. The rear seat area has been repurposed into an additional 25 cubic feet of secure storage, all concealed beneath a flat sleeping surface—perfect for rest during extended rally stages or remote camp setups. Atropia isn’t just a vehicle—she’s a mission-ready machine, a trusted teammate, and a reflection of Kristie’s vision, experience, and commitment to adventure and precision.
